This site has an applet that takes a URL of an html document and turns it into a MIDI music file. Pretty cool (though I've seen similar txt2midi apps before).
This reminds me of a long time ago (1994ish) when I started to make a Webstar CGI app in Hypercard (HC forever!!!) that generated semi-random music based on pitch, key, length and tempo info the user would input from a web form. HC would make a MIDI file and return it to the user's webbrowser as the result. I had it working well too! I played with it for a while tweeking it and such and then forgot about it. Now I'm playing with Runtime Revolution and may someday port and modernizing some of my HC stacks, but I would need to run my own webserver in order to get this toy working again. :(

More on MUSE's new ablum "Blackholes and Revelations" comming out in July 2006...
As I said "vocals sound more like Prince (on Supermassive Blackhole) or Queen (Knights of Cydonia) on this album... not sure if that's an improvement or not?". IT IS!!! This album has much improved vocals (or maybe just better produced vocals), There are a few vocal harmony arrangements that give it a bit of a 'barbershop quartet' sound and another strangely reminds me of the 1920s (50 years before I was born)?!?

A new report entitled "The iPod City" states that Apple's iPods are constructed primarily by female employees who earn as little as $50 per month, but who work 15 hours per day. Foxconn's Longhua plant employs 200,000 workers who live in dormitories -- each housing 100 people -- which do not permit visitors from outside world, according to Macworld UK. Another factory in Suzhou, Shanghai rolls out iPod shuffles with workers who are housed outside the facility. Employees earn roughly $100 per month, but must pay for accommodations and food, which consumes half of their salaries. One security guard said that the Shuffle production lines are staffed by women workers because "they are more honest than male workers," while Apple's iPod nano is manufactured in a five-story factory that is secured by police officers, according to the report.

Apple claims to be looking into it here.

MUSE has a new ablum comming out in July2006. They are the best new band I've heard come along in too long. Go listen to thier stuff! It's a mix of Metal & Pop with obvious progressive rock influence. The new album has a slightly more commercial/1980s sound to it. Vocals sound more like Prince (on Supermassive Blackhole) or Queen (Knights of Cydonia) on this album... not sure if that's an improvement or not?
